The Metro Roxas Water District (MRWD) Management announced on April 23, 2020 that there is no truth as to rumors of MRWD processed water being infected with COVID-19. MRWD assures its valued concessionaires that such incident cannot happen due to the following reasons:
- COVID-19 is not transmissible through water or food.
- The residual chlorine in MRWD treated water kills a large variety of microbial waterborne pathogens.
- The MRWD Water Treatment Plant is guarded 24/7 and entry by unauthorized persons are not allowed.
Additionally, the MRWD Management reminds everyone that next time you feel like sharing unverified or speculative information, wash your hands instead.
