The Metro Roxas Water District joins the “Ehersisyong Pangkalusugan para sa Lahat 2011” fitness event launched by the Department of Health on May 15, 2011 at the People’s Park, Barangay Baybay, Roxas City.
A 30-minute dance exercise was led by Ms. Cynthia Gellagani of the Civil Service Commission and Board Members Hon. Ma. Emile Ardivilla and Hon. Remia Fuentes Bartolome. Short messages were given by them on the importance of physical exercise to wellness, and encouraged the participants to continue the advocacy for a healthy lifestyle.
The National Healthy Lifestyle Campaign aims to promote a healthy lifestyle practices for prevention and control of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as cardio-vascular and chronic respiratory diseases and diabetes posing threat to human health and development. The MRWD thru the invitation by the Civil Service Commission Regional Office in line with the directive from the Department of Health has sent delegates to participate in the affair.
The nationwide health advocacy is in coordination with the different Centers for Health Development and supported by the National Government Agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs). The said activity was simultaneously launched by participants all over the country.
