Roxas City – December 22, 2011, Monday, the Metro Roxas Water District thru its General Manager has linked with the Bombo Radyo Philippines in their Oplan Tabang which seeks to solicit donations and facilitates the delivery of the same to the victims of tropical storm Sendong that hit the area of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan. GM Delgado together with some MRWD personnel have personally delivered to the radio station manager, Mr. Joseph Silvias the packages containing MRWD bottled water at the Bombo Radyo Broadcast Center, Arnaldo Boulevard, Roxas City.
As the typhoon Sendong left the people of CDO and Iligan in great devastation putting them to psycho-socio and economic distress causing damage to properties, casualties and deaths, it will take some time for the cities and provinces to recover. As such, measures are taken to give immediate aid and other assistance to the residents of the affected area in order to mitigate demands for support in such a calamity. At present, issues and concerns are focused on providing emergency shelters, food and other relief goods assistance, sanitation, and of more importance is the supply of clean water for drinking and daily use. Hence, in no delay the MRWD has provided to supply the need for potable and portable drinking water to the concerned. It has always been the humble desire of the MRWD to be of service and to lend a helping hand in trying times.
