Metro Roxas Water District, as a public utility, is one with the City of Roxas and Province of Capiz in these times of crisis as it implements strict social distancing and sanitation protocols within its premises as precautionary measures amidst the threat of COVID-19.

Considering the inability of our concessionaires to readily leave their households in view of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), the MRWD Management and Board of Directors announced a moratorium on penalties through Board Resolution No. 15 series of 2020 titled “RESOLUTION APPROVING THE THIRTY (30) DAY DUE DATE EXTENSION FOR MRWD CONCESSIONAIRES EFFECTIVE MARCH 20, 2020 UNTIL APRIL 19, 2020”.

The MRWD Management assured that there shall be no disconnection and surcharges for non-payment of water bills with due dates from March 20, 2020 until April 19, 2020.

Additionally, in light of the recent development on the pandemic and health risk of COVID-19, MRWD suspended collections in Panay, Panitan and Ivisan Satellite Offices from March 23, 2020 until such time the ECQ has been lifted.

The 30-day moratorium was later extended on April 15, 2020 through Board Resolution
No. 24 series of 2020 titled “RESOLUTION AMENDING BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 15 SERIES OF 2020 TO FURTHER EXTEND DUE DATES FOR MRWD CONCESSIONAIRES UNTIL APRIL 30, 2020”.

The extension was in view of Executive Order No. 12-A Amending Executive Order No. 12, series of 2020 entitled “An order declaring the Province of Capiz Under Enhanced Community Quarantine” signed by Capiz Governer Esteban Evan B. Contreras on April 14, 2020. Section 2 of Article III- Enhanced Community Quarantine Measures provides that Executive Order No. 12 series of 2020 shall take effect on 00:01 of March 25, 2020 until April 30, 2020, which may be shortened or extended upon the recommendation of the Province Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases.
